Recovery

Angelique informed us this morning that she is trying to do everything she can to recover as quickly as possible, to be able to participate to Madrid.  She even shared a picture while being treated.  It doesn't really say how bad it is, but I read that it is related to a muscle injury.  Most important is to get 100% and ensure full recovery before playing again.  Nice to see she keeps smiling!

You take care Angie!

Porsche Tennis Grand Prix - Angie had to retire

When she entered the Stadium, we didn't know how it will turn out.  The match started, and we could feel there was something wrong with Angie - was it her back, her legs, we didn't know, but we just knew it wasn't our usual Angie.

When i see an athlete struggling because of an injury, I don't like it, and you can pretty much guess that it is something i wouldn't want to happen to Angie.  After the fantastic match she played yesterday, i guess she was hoping to go one more round, so were we.

It is really heartbreaking seeing Angie like that, so at the end, i didn't care about the match, i was just hoping that it wouldn't get worst if she decides to keep playing - she tried, because of her home crowd, but at the end, it was better not too and she stopped.

We all hope that she will get better soon.

She won't probably ever see that blog, but along with thousand of fan, i twitted her a few words, because won or lose, we are behind her.

Porsche Tennis Grand Prix - Kerber def Kvitova 6-3, 6-2

As the local favorite, it is certain that the 4400 crowd would cheer for Angie Kerber and it is with an impressive form that she started one of her favorite tournament taking revanche on Petra Kvitova, with whom she battle last Sunday in a match she lost not able to find her marks.

Today, Angelique was the Angelique we love to see – confident, determined, tenacious right from the start.  Maybe Kvitova was not at her best, but she did try to find solution but Angie didn't allow her to get into the match.  She was quick, she was sharp and serve well.  The German closed the match in 2 sets to the delight of her fans.  If she keep playing that way, everything is possible.

“It wasn’t an easy match for me even though it didn’t look that way from the outside,” she said, “but I learnt from my match on Sunday and was fully focussed on playing better today. I tried right from the outset to dominate the match and was quite successful. Things won’t get any easier but the first rounds are always the most difficult for me. So I’m really happy to have won today. I’m up-and-running.”

Fit Mit Angie Programm

Angie is so busy this week that it is hard to keep up with her.  A few days ago, she was in Mallorca practicing on clay but also to meet the Mallorca tournament committe, to which Angie will participate in June.  Yesterday she was back in Germany to promote SAP and today, she is all over the planet with her new training program sponsored by Generali Versicherungen launched today.

What is great with this program (aside that fact that it confirms that my own training program is not bad at all) is that there are two levels depending on your capacity and you can take whatever you want from it.  In short, they thought of everything.  Well, it is also fun to be training with Angie and her fitness trainer. ;)

I wish my German was better than it is, but i just got enough to enjoy this!
