The Australian Open

It had been a very surprising Australian open. Here are some of the fact and stats that surprised me colored but some pictures and avatars.

The tournament was only 3h15 minutes old when we were stunt by a first surprise: we knew then that a 22 year old Russian player called Maria would advance to the second round, but we never thought her last name would be Kirilenko. It was wrong not to set Justine Henin as a seeded player. Not only Elena Dementieva paid for it, but all those who like that Russian player were deprived to see her a little longer. The tornado Nadia inflicted to Kim Clijsters her worst defeat in career 6-1, 6-0 and continued her victorious wind beating Kuznetsova till she hit a wall, the same wall Dementieva hit; a lot tougher mentally, Justine Henin. What surprised me the most about Ana Ivanovic’s defeat is that she didn’t lost earlier! The poor girl has so much trouble with her ball toss that I really wonder how come she made a semi in Brisbane. She sure shows some great forehand, but there isn’t any sign of the former number #1. All credit to Gisela Dulko who was consistent enough to keep it up and win the match but still couldn’t believe it. And Serbian beauty, Jelena Jankovic had trained hard this winter, but, the confidence is just not here. At some point, the Serbian laughed at herself so much there was nothing she could do on court that day she lost against a player that had never beaten her before, Alona Bondarenko. And we, Fan of JJ, keep hoping that the true Jelena will be back, but it won’t be at this Australian Open.

A new trial

I asked myself for a little while, where on earth i could rant about the sport that i love; tennis. Once i found it, i kept wondering, should it be in French, in English or in Spanish?

Here it starts, my new blog, in English, that i will use to share my thought of the lastest tournaments, news about players, the lastest pictures and some of my own creation of banners, avatars or WallPapers.

I have no idea if it is going to be read or not, i am doing it for fun, and if some join me, i will be glad.
